Emilly Osterlund

Born and educated in Melbourne, Emilly Osterlund has turned her passionate hobby into a career, moulding garments to the changing consumer. Emilly’s love of detail, fine fabrics, and the business of fashion combine in her Bachelor of Fashion and Business Major Project - graduate collection ULTIME: Connection AW 15.

 

Beginning her studies in Economics and Languages at Melbourne University a wavering mind led her to pursue a career in fashion. Emilly enrolled into a Diploma of Fashion Design and Technology at Melbourne School of Fashion thinking that she would go back to her Bachelor of Arts as a back-up, within two minutes she was hooked. After graduating from her Diploma, she pursued her business passion once more enrolling into the second year of a Bachelor of Fashion and Business at Melbourne School of Fashion.

Now after 4 years studying fashion and business, her Majors Project Collection debuts - ULTIME: Connection AW 15, combines the need for extended size ranges in the high end market with young women’s business wear. The collection combines her skills in patternmaking, fit, design, and textiles with her knowledge of the current fashion consumer.

 

Emilly has gained an understanding of the contemporary fashion consumer within her extensive retail experience, supporting herself through her studies. With this in mind she now sets her sights a buying roll, hoping in the future to empower change in the buying sector of the fashion industry.

 

Going above and beyond for her customer, she is keen to take a leadership role in the future and has strong ambition and determination to get there.
